Virtual reality is now perceived as something playful, funny, at best, something like a system from the movie The Matrix. But what if we imagine virtual reality as a means of protecting the human body from accidental damage. To create a virtual reality as an absolute copy of reality, in which a person does not feel any difference, but knows that he is in the virtual space.

To avoid creating "parallel" worlds or lagging one of the realities behind the other, it will be necessary to synchronize the changes in both realities. Thus, human actions in virtual reality will change reality and vice versa. For example, this may allow scientific research to be carried out in virtual reality, and the results of research that are positive for humanity can be transferred to reality. This can reduce the risk of a large-scale catastrophe from, for example, nuclear research.

The process of interaction of human consciousness with the outside world occurs through the senses. As a consequence of this, a person has the ability to influence the environment both directly physically and through technological tools, such as a shovel or a bomb. It is worth presenting virtual reality as the same tool for interacting with the outside world.

Physical changes can actually be provided by mechanisms and robots. At the same time, the transfer of feedback to virtual reality is not difficult, and already from virtual reality a person can perceive information using the same sense organs. Thus, between human consciousness and the physical world, we are building another technological tool - virtual reality, which is able to at least save you from a random brick on your head during the construction process.

Another problem that virtual reality can solve is movement in space. In order to get to another point on the map, it will not be necessary to move the human body there. If the area is thoroughly explored, then recreating it in virtual reality will not be difficult. And, as we have already said, it is possible to interact with the terrain in the physical world, for example, with the help of robotic mechanisms.

For example, to reach other planets in our solar system, or even distant stars, it will be necessary to send an automated expedition there. A detailed study of the terrain on other planets will help to recreate identical conditions in virtual reality. A person will be able to instantly move to this planet and carry out changes on it with the help of the same robots.
